Victor Borza completed his undergraduate training at Dartmouth College, receiving a B.A. and B.Eng. in 2018. During his undergraduate years, Victor studied the role of chemotaxis in bacterial pathogenesis for lung infections and for his undergraduate honors thesis, he developed a metabolomic approach to diagnosing prosthetic joint infections. After graduation, he worked as a research associate at Dartmouth, researching and developing medical devices for the visualization of radiation therapy and early detection systems for hemorrhage. Victor joined the Vanderbilt Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) in 2019 and is pursuing dual MD and PhD degrees. He is currently a student in Brad Malin’s lab and his research interests include genetic privacy, algorithmic fairness, and applications of machine learning to medicine.
